Cats health concerns are brought into play when the idea of worms inside of them gets brought up. It is not a fun process for the animal. It is almost crucial when welcoming a new cat or dog into the family to get them de-wormed. My experience mostly has been with cats, though I have had many dogs too.

Anyway, it is very important to check if you got your cat or kitten from an outdoor environment such as a farm or just from a family who had the cat outdoors. I got my kitten from a farm with a million other cats and kittens. It was almost a given that she would have worms. She had also had a cold, or as they call it, an upper respiratory infection for kittens.

I was monitoring her fecal droppings and sure enough there was a tiny worm. I brought her into my local vet, and they discovered that it was round worms. This is the most common type in cats. She was put on a de-wormer that was to my surprise cheaper than I thought. Cats health concerns is a serious issue we should keep in mind.

The amount of de-wormer depends on the weight of your feline, so it is important to make sure you know how much your cat weighs. From what I remember, I only gave my little girl a tiny bit. I could tell the worms had gone away after just one treatment, but just to be sure, I gave her another treatment the next month to make sure they were all out of her system. All in all, there is no need to panic when your pet has worms. It is almost a given, and it is very treatable and inexpensive.
