A Clunker Car Crushing Cash Calamity

The cash for clunkers program that Congress put forth went fast, and now critics saying it turned into a calamity.The proponents of such a program say it was a total success, and it was so successful, even too successful, that's why it ran out of cash. Congressman decided to put forth another $2 billion for the cash for clunkers program.

Car dealerships were happy to see people coming into the dealerships asking about rebates on new cars, tax incentives and discounts in the program even if the customers didn't qualify, at least it brought the people in to ask questions, and onto the show room to look at all the new cars available.

What many people do not understand is car sales are also attached to retail sales, which have been in crisis due to the global economic fallout. As more people are buying new cars it will increase the retail sales figures, and that will boost Wall Street and consumer competence at the end of the third quarter.

This could be just what we need for an economic recovery. Even a slight uptick in retail sales will be seen as a positive. It's hard to say if the cash for clunkers and car crushing was a success or a failure. Congress failed to realize how popular the program might be, and they underfunded it.

This part of the stimulus package, so it seems to have worked too good and the money ran out in less than a week. I guess all this proves that the US consumer is a resilent animal, and once they get going nothing is good to stop them. Please consider all this.
