You and the love of your life just broke up and you just cannot believe it. Your life seems to be over; all you can do is think about them and how much you want them back. In most cases, breakups are not final as long as a horrible thing didn't cause the breakup. Love does not just fade that fast. However, there are some desperate measures you can try to get back the ex in less then a week.

It is recommended that you only go for desperate measures if you feel you really have no choice. Sometimes this can backfire on you and push your ex away. Other times, it may be just what is needed to prove that you really do love them for them to give you another chance. Therefore, if you are truly desperate, these suggestions may have the affect you are looking for.

Make them feel guilty for breaking up with you. Human emotions are a funny thing, and people use guilt and manipulation everyday to get what they want. Even in relationships where couples are happy, guilt and manipulation is used to get one's own way. You know your ex, so think about what would make them feel the most guilty and the most sorry for you and use that.

Promise them the world if you need to, make every and any promise that you know or think they want. Make sure you back up some of those promises with results right away. If you do something that they absolutely hate and they asked you to quit and you promised you would but didn't, now is the time to do it. So declare a few promises to them and then do what you promise so they can see that you are serious about doing anything to get them back.

Shower them with gifts, but not truly expensive things unless you have an endless supply of money. You know what they likes so focus on that. If they like a certain singer, look for a CD that they don't have or make a compilation yourself. Be nonchalant when you give the gifts in person, say something like, "I saw this and thought of you". That will melt a girl's heart and boost a guy's ego.

Sometime jealousy works, if done correctly. Make sure your ex sees you with another right away. Invite someone out on a date and make sure your ex or their friends see you out. Act as if you are having a good time and be very attentive to your date. When your ex confronts you, as they most likely will, break down and explain how lonely you are. Tell them how all you can do is think about them, so you had to try to date someone else to drown the pain. Then admit it isn't working, and look pathetic when you say it to gain sympathy.

Stalking is illegal, but you can do it in a way where it doesn't appear to be stalking. Arrange things so that wherever they are going to be, you are going to be also. It will have to look like a coincidence at first. They may accuse you of following them, and of course they'll be right, but you have to act like your feelings are hurt by such an accusation. But the more they see you, the harder it will be for them to try to move on and leave you behind.

The most important thing to get back the ex in less then a week is to not give up. Not everyone will be able to do it in less than a week, but you can try. If your breakup was really bad, you are going to need a bit more time, but sometimes a broken heart calls for desperate measures.
