It was during this Byzantine Period when numerous styles of crosses were created. The Dagmar Cross was one of the crosses to be created.

Looking into its history, the cross was first created in Denmark in honor of Queen Dagmar, a popular and involved queen to the Danes. After her death, it was decided that she would be buried with the Dagmar Cross although it was removed from her tomb at a later time. The original cross worn by her is presently displayed in Copenhagen in Denmark.

The Dagmar Cross is a traditional gift and is often referred to as the Wedding Cross. The cross worn by Queen Dagmar depicts Jesus crucified on the cross with a blue background. Now, the contemporary Crosses are designed in sterling silver and gold and depict various saints surrounding Jesus on the front. At the back of the Cross is a view of Jesus crucified on the cross.

Another popular gift presented by most people to women nowadays is ladies watches(In Danish dameure). Watches are usually given as gifts during birthdays, weddings or even as a remembrance gift. Although its not really tradition to gift a watch to a woman, a beautiful looking watch is somehow the perfect gift for different occasions.
