The temperature of the steam is closely monitored so that the amount of water/moisture being infused into the steam can be controlled to reach optimal temperatures.

Depending on where they need to be used, desuperheaters can be installed either horizontally or vertically. They can be powered with the help of electric energy or pneumatic power. They key to having an effective unit is an effective steam or water mixing system. Other machines such as chemical mixers also need extensive cooling applications.

With intensive engineering-related research, there are some manufacturers who have managed to create new systems for more effectual cooling. For instance, in these units, the water/moisture stream is directed upward. The high velocity steam that flows in the power plant turns the water around to send it back through a multi-chamber mixing module.
