Men would stamp out the blooms and petal shapes and dye fabric whereas women and children would make flower from them. Many shops could be found in New York City.

In the UK too silk flowers artisans took this craft seriously and by early 1800s became everybodys favourite. Then they were made from various fabrics including satin, muslin, silk, gauge or velvet or materials such as porcelain, metal or wax.

In China artificial flowers were used for artistic expressions.

Glass: The glass flowers are more contemporary and are made by melting glass into various flower shapes. They are a little expensive in comparison to other types of artificial flowers as working with melted glass is not much easy.

Plastic: Plastic flowers are made like glass blooms are made. The melted plastic is moulded into different flowers.
