A Few Simple Ways To Keep The Home Organized Using Wooden Cabinets
There are many uses for wooden cabinets
There are many uses for wooden cabinets. Depending on the home's decor, they can be custom made to work with any color scheme or material used in the kitchen, bathroom, living room or attic. Wood cabinets help with organizing a home by creating a storage place for everything from herbs and spices to figurines to medication. Here are just a few ways to organize the home with wood cabinets.
Kitchen
Organize the kitchen by keeping the sink, countertops and range free of dishes, pots and pans. If there is not enough built-in cabinet space, add extra shelves or cabinets made of wood to accommodate them or rearrange things to make room for more dishes and food.
One item that can take up a lot of space is the spice collection. Storing containers on a cabinet shelf is aggravating when all of the containers are the same size and look alike from the top. A lazy Susan takes up a lot of space as well. Using a wall spice rack frees up cabinet space and simplifies finding herbs and spices. Additional wooden shelving to match kitchen spice racks can hold knickknacks, mugs, canisters and special ceramics.
Attic
One room in the home that most people hide from visitors is the attic. Often unfinished, it is frequently laden with boxes and things not used. The attic can also be finished to create a beautiful space for a bedroom or home office. Use wooden shelves and cabinetry to organize the mess or enhance the decor. Make the attic another room to add on to the house tour. Add wooden bookshelves to a bedroom or office custom made of sturdy material. They will keep the area uncluttered for years to come.
Living Room
A room for entertaining guests and relaxing with family, the living room can become a place for pile-ups of things without a special storage area. Use wooden magazine racks to hold newspapers, magazines and maps rather than setting them on the couch, end table or armrests. Have custom racks made to closely match or coordinate with the rest of the furniture. Pine CD shelves and DVD racks are a practical and reliable way to organize a music or game collection without having a tower of cases precariously piled next to the entertainment system or on the floor. Wall shelves with invisible mounting also create a stylish and organized look in the living room.
