A easy way to remember a few steps to a healthier you is the three P's, posture, portions, and palate. You are able to focus on a few words at a time to help you reach your goal of being a healthier you. Your health is important and shouldn't be taken lightly.

The first P stands for posture. If you practice good posture when you eat you will be letting your organs process the food in a timely manner. You will be a better judge of when you are getting full if you sit in a upright position.

While you are sitting properly you will also chew and digest in a safer way. Make sure that you are taking the time to eat slowly. This is a problem for a lot of Americans, because in the American culture people like to sit down and eat their meal quickly before moving on to their next activity.

As you are taking the time to understand how you can eat slower you can start by chewing more with each bite. When you are learning how you are going to chew more you want to make sure that you start to put your silverware down on the table.

The second P is for portions. We are the judge of what portion we feel like eating at that moment and most of us eat way more than we need to. There are a lot of people that overeat every meal and have a hard time stopping when they are full. If you feel that you have gotten yourself into this position make sure that you take the time to start to eat less food.


When you over eat you damage the progress you are making in being healthy. Eating needs to be treated as a source of nutritional needs for our body. We over eat when we are bored, have stress, or socially. Lets work on not giving in to the present satisfaction of over eating.

Third P meaning is palate. Our taste buds are a contributing factor to not being as healthy as we want. We need to take time while eating if we are one that eats for taste. When you are putting the silverware down on the table you may be encouraged to keep the food in your mouth for a longer period of time. You should make sure that you are taking the time to also learn how you are going to savor the food you are eating.

When you are striving to eat healthier you should make sure that you are taking the time to understand small changes that you can make. You have to be sure that you are taking the time to understand how you can slowly ease into better eating habits.

Listening to your body is important when you are trying to eat healthier. There are many different feelings that you may feel associated to eating and you want to take the time to learn how you are going to listen intently to your body.
