For example, a certain age separates an infant from a child, and the two have different airfare rates. By knowing the age boundary, you won't mistakenly book an infant as a child and won't have to pay more than you should.

4. Double check your booking. Again, this is especially applicable among those booking online with no guidance from airline personnel. A simple mistake in your booking may result in the need to rebook, and the rebooking fee can get expensive.

So if you're eyeing a certain place to visit, just wait until an airline offers promos for travel to the said place and grab the promo at once.

A travel agency is helpful not only when it comes to finding cheap flights but also in terms of scouting for cheap but safe and good hotels and for providing other travel services (airport transfer, tour guide, etc.). It can also provide you with all your needed information about the place you're visiting, so you know which are worth spending you're money on and which are simply tourist traps.
