Why you may ask is this so? Well, it is this way because your digital camera in a very similar way to your computer does not actually delete your files from its database, in this case your memory card, but only marks them as 'deleted' so that they can be 'overwritten' sometime in the future when you take another shot. I should at this point inform you that this 'do it yourself' memory card data recovery is only possible (unless you want to completely risk total loss of your data) if and only if your memory card is still functioning. If it is not that means your memory card is spoilt or non-functional. So what do you do next if you are in this situation?

Always make sure that you transfer data from your digital camera to your windows computer (that is if you using one anyway). This is because NTFS data recovery will when the need arises complement efforts made on data recovery.

This is so because NTFS data recovery processes (cluster remapping and transaction logging) are automated without third part participation and prevent further loss of data stored in the Windows computer from your digital camera.

What I mean here is that after storing the data you recovered from your memory card into Windows NT or similar Windows version, it will prevent further loss of your picture or image through this ""internal"" data retrieval known as NTFS data recovery. Please confirm compatibility of your drives with memory card data recovery software before using it and don't jettison any manufacturer's instructions.
