You can categorize your vegetables into three groups which are the drought tolerant, regular watering and the water after flowering. Vegetables like radish, onions, cabbage, turnip and the like are some of the vegetables that can be tolerant to drought. All you have to do is to make sure the soil is good and once established they will surely be okay. On the other hand, leafy crops should be watered regularly especially if the soil is not that good. There are also vegetables that should be watered only after it has flowered like beans, squash, tomatoes and pumpkins.
You should know that the ideal time for watering vegetables and even other plants are during early morning or at night because on these times the weather is cool that will avoid evaporation of water. It is not advisable to water plants in the afternoon when the sun is at its peak. Water that would touch the leaves might cause it to burn. You should directly pour the water on the soil that it can easily be absorbed by the roots.
