Creating your own wreath to hang on the door is simple

. Get a plain wreath and add your own touch with ribbons, lights, pine cones, cranberries, other fruits and holly. You can create a swag to hang over doorways or when going from room to room. Don't forget about your windows; add fake snow, window clings and even lights to your windows. For any hanging or standing lights, add some ribbon or lighted garland. Bows are a great accent to door knobs or table lights; you can also add small bows to pillar candles.

Your Christmas light displays are going to really stand out depending on the lights you use. If you want a bright display, use the LED lights. They are much brighter and use less energy than your regular lights. They have lighted nets you can use to drape over the tops of bushes. The more lights you have on the outside of your home the more it will stand out. Line your walk ways using lighted candy canes, miniature Christmas trees or create your own luminaries by using glass jars. Put sand in the jar; add a votive candle and some beads. Next, wrap garland around the bottom of the jar and place them along your walk way. This will help you to create a beautiful Christmas light display for your home.
