In some places it is even possible to stay in hotels which have a rich history as part of Prague's past. The Cloister Inn Prague is one such hotel, and is situated in a converted monastery. The site was originally built in medieval times and a monastery was founded by the Jesuits.
During the Communist regime the building was invaded and inhabited by the Secret Police, and was only returned to the Grey Sisters of St Francis in 1990. Part of the site is still occupied by the Sisters and the baroque church of St Bartholomew, whilst the Cloister Inn Prague was able to open its doors to customers in 1996. The rich history behind the Cloister Inn Prague makes it a fascinating place to stay, and it is also has the advantage of enjoying a prime spot within walking distance of some of the city's most famous sights.
Situated on a narrow and quiet old town street, the Cloister Inn Prague enjoys a calm location whilst being very central in the city itself. Just a hundred metre walk from the hotel is the National Theatre and Naprstek Museum, a perfect location for those who would like to enjoy a play or two during their stay!
