Theres no doubt that many of us are feeling the effects of the economic recession

When you actually consider some of the contributing factors for this figure it doesnt seem too surprising, despite being identified as a crucial concern by politicians, unemployment in youths still continues to grow. It is quite likely that the significant numbers of university graduates are contributing towards an already over saturated job market where many people are over qualified for menial jobs and lack the necessary experience for a career type job.

Although it might be true that unemployment remains high there are still opportunities out there, provided you look in the right place. For example, as the digital revolution continues and new technologies and mediums become deeper ingrained into our every day lives, the IT sector is presenting an increasing number of job opportunities. And a significant number of job opportunities in this sector too as a career in child care can encompass anything from teaching to child psychology. With such a diverse range of different career options in this sector many people are able to find something that is suitable for their skills and experience.

There are a variety of factors that can determine what area of child care someone might be interested in, firstly there is the age range, there is a big difference between teaching children at primary school and ones in secondary school. You might have an interested in reactions, stimuli and behaviour of children, in which case a path down the route of a child psychologist would be well suited to your interests. But this sort of information and abilities is not limited to this region; it can also be extremely useful to have as a teaching tool too. Learning techniques that engage students have been proven to be far more effective than traditional methods.

For anyone that has not got any qualifications or experience in the field it could be worth considering a child care course, most of which will provide an NCFE level 2 qualification, and some even a level 3 diploma. NCFE is a recognised awarding body for qualification regulators of England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. No previous qualifications are required to gain entry to one of these courses, and they are designed to be flexible so that if youre already in employment or have prior commitments you can work around them.
