A Japanese Car With German Aspirations : The 2010 Suzuki Kizashi
Car fans have pronounced the Kizashi as one of the best cars that Suzuki has ever
produced and a strong competitor in the competitive midsize sedan market. Auto manufacturer Suzuki is pleased to compete in this market in the United States and will be competing directly with popular vehicles like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. The Kizashi has a very European feel about her; her handling and performance reminds you of European vehicles and so does her plus and luxurious interior. This vehicle comes in 4 different trims: S, SE, GTS and SLS. Starting at a base price of just $20k, Suzuki plans to price the Kizashi much lower than its competitors in the midsize sedan market. Many people who test drove the Kizashi reminds them of fine German vehicles such as the Audi or Jetta.
What powers this vehicle is a 2.4 Liter 4 cylinder 185 HP engine with 170 lb of feet torque and customers can choose from a CVT transmission or a manual transmission. Suzuki plans to launch a model with a 6 cylinder engine soon. Gas mileage stands at 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the freeway. The car travels from 0-60 in 8.3 seconds. Due to the suspension tuning the Kizashi handles and performs similar to a premium German auto.
The interior does not disappoint, it's luxurious and opulent, especially when you consider the low base price of just around $20k. The door handles are upholstered and so are the door panels. All models include dual zone climate controls, a 9 speaker stereo with CD player, USB compatibility, Ipod interface, sweet looking 16" wheels, Push-button keyless ignition and entry, a 3-Spoke Sport Steering Wheel with Remote Audio Controls and a Tilt & telescopic adjustable steering wheel as standard features. There are also lots of sweet options that can be included such as seats that can be adjusted temperature wise, a great navigation system and blue tooth compatibility.
Safety was a priority for engineers when they designed this car. Lots of safety features are included such as electronic stability control with traction control system, an Anti-Lock Braking System, dual advanced front airbags, vehicle security system and Energy-absorbing trim on pillars and roof-side rails. The Kizashi fared quite well during crash tests and earned an enviable 5 stars during 4 crash tests.
One minor drawback to the Kizashi is that Suzuki dealers are a bit hard to find in the U.S so you might have to hunt around a bit if you would like to get your hands on this auto for a test drive. The 2010 Kizashi packs so many premium qualities and luxury touches at such a great price. If you're looking for a midsize sedan but want to drive a car that's a bit more rare and unique versus the more common Accord or Camry then check out the Kizashi. This car packs a ton of character and premium quality into a midsize sedan.
