, it is important to know how to apply the paint the right way. You can't just slap some paint on the walls and expect it to look halfway decent. There is a method to this painting madness and tricks to getting your rooms to look the best they can. It all starts with picking out the right colors for your room. There are certain colors that go together well and will make your room look bigger and brighter.

Certain rooms take to certain colors better than other rooms would. A living room, for instance, usually looks better with lighter colors, as it makes the room feel comfortable and homey, like it should. Yellows, tans, light browns or whites are good for this relaxing room. A dining room or kitchen, however, can have a darker color on the walls such as shades of red, orange, bright yellows or greens. This gives off the impression that these rooms are bigger than they appear. The bright colors make the room pop a little more.

Bathrooms and bedrooms can really be painted any color you wish. Also, incorporating trim in each room is a good move to make as well. Trim is what goes around the edge of the room to cover up the ragged spots and make it look crisper and cleaner. This can also be any color you want, however, certain trim colors go extremely well with wall colors. If your wall color is red, maybe you might want your trim to be white or a light gold color. If your wall color is yellow, you might want to go with a brown trim. There is no secret to picking out these colors. It is solely about preference and what you think looks well together.
