A Look At The Advanced Camera On Htc One X

The HTC One X is the latest flagship Android smartphone from the now massively popular manufacturer

. Among its spec list is a quad-core processor, Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS, HTCs most advanced touchscreen to date, and an 8 megapixel camera. In this article I will take a closer look at the camera, in particular the features which set it apart from the cameras found on other smartphones.

Although HTC has not increased the pixel count from its last flagship, the HTC Sensation XE, like some other s such as Sony (the Sony Xperia S has a 12 megapixel camera), HTC has instead decided to focus on the features of the camera itself. Read on to find out about some of the innovative specifications of the 8 megapixel camera.

Thanks largely to the power of its 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, the camera on the HTC One X is able to activate and operate its autofocus feature in a lightning fast 0.25 seconds. This feature is found on most other camera phones, and as the name suggests, automatically focuses to the optimum distance, taking the guesswork out of getting the best results. When the autofocus feature is enabled, you will probably not notice it on the screen, as it will already be focussed before you have even thought about touching the capture button.

One of the most talked about features of the camera on the HTC One X, and even a subject of a current UK television advertisement, is its ability to simultaneously capture still images and HD video footage. As you would probably expect, the camera can capture footage in the maximum high definition resolution of 1080p, but the ability to also capture still images at the same time really sets this camera apart. This feature means that you no longer have to choose between whether to take a photo or capture a video of whatever it is you are filming. This feature can also be used to add freeze-frame style shots to your videos.

When trying to capture the perfect photo, it can often be frustrating if you touch the capture button at the wrong time, even it is a fraction of a second to late or early. The camera on the HTC One X resolves this problem. When you press the on screen couture button, the camera will continuously take photos until you take your finger off the screen. This way, you can hold down the button when trying to capture an action shot, and release it when you are ready. Then, simply browse through all the photos which were taken, and delete the ones you dont need, and keep the perfect picture you have taken, which you can of course then go on to share via MMS, Facebook, Twitter etc, and also stream wirelessly to a compatible TV using DLNA, or HTCs Media Link. This allows you to mirror the handsets on screen content on a TV, so you can even stream wireless HD videos in real time.

As you can see, the camera on the HTC One X is packed with innovation, and to be honest, we would expect nothing less from HTC. If you are looking for the ultimate camera phone, the HTC One X is defiantly worthy of a place on your shortlist.
