A Look At The Wave From Samsung
Samsung look set to shake up the mobile smartphone market with the introduction off their new all action handset, the Wave.
The Samsung Wave operates on the manufacturers new operating system, the Bada OS. This is overlayed with the excellent TouchWiz user interface, giving you the ultimate in control and user friendliness. The operating system also allows the user access to Samsungs own app store, with Bada heralded as perhaps the most easy programme for app designers, meaning we can expect a huge range. The TouchWiz interface is version 3.0 and is a much more intuitive system than earlier versions such is found on the Samsung Jet. The homescreens are now not limited to only three, meaning complete flexibility on how many widgets you have instantly accessible. A neat addition is the option to arrange icons in the order of which are most used, meaning not having to go through various screens to find your favourite app. The phones Social Hub conveniently groups together information form all of your online accounts, so e mails, facebook messages and contacts are all easy to find in one place.
Connectivity plays a huge part in the Samsung Wave, and users certainly will not be disappointed with the excellent results, whether you are at home or on the move. The handsets offers WiFi, giving the user the ultimate browsing experience when connected to a personal network. Even when on the move though the experience is great thanks to 3G, EDGE and GPRS all being supported. With regards to local connectivity the Wave boasts Bluetooth version 3.0 and also a micro USB port for connecting to a personal computer. Multimedia functionality is also impressive on the handset, with the capability of recording high definition video perhaps the real eye catcher. The still camera itself is still of a good standard though, with an image resolution of 5 mega pixels coupled with useful features such as an LED flash, autofocus and Face detection. Memory on the handset should not be a problem thanks to a micro SD card slot supporting memory up to 32GB. An impressive 3.3" screen real stands out on this model. Thanks to Super AMOLED technology and an excellent 480 x 800 resolution, web pages and pictures look great with immense detail and bright and vivid colour reproduction.
With much hype surrounding the Apple iPhone 4G, the Samsung Wave could well be the dark horse to steal its thunder thanks to a great specification and stylish look.
