A Look At Why The Samsung Galaxy S2 Is Still A Popular Choice
Despite increasing competition from its stablemates and the new releases of other manufacturers
, the Samsung Galaxy S2 remains a popular smartphone, and for the foreseeable future looks set to be the go to Android smartphone for those seeking an alternative to the iPhone 4S.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 is the most successful Android smartphone, and certainly the most successful smartphone for Samsung. The handset has a spec list which provides everything you could possibly want from a smartphone, unless you are one of those who want the very latest smartphone technology available. If this is the case, Samsung has you covered, with the impressive Samsung Galaxy Note which boasts some of the best technology available. Also, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is due for release in coming weeks, so tech enthusiasts have something to look forward to.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 ticks all the boxes in pretty much every aspect of its spec list. It has an impressive 8 megapixel camera which comes with all the bells and whistles you would expect such as autofocus, touch focus, LED flash, and the ability to capture video footage in resolution settings of up to 1080p high definition.
The screen of the device is widely reported as one of the best in the business. At 4.3 inches, it shares its dimensions with several other Android devices like the HTC Sensation XE and Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. Although its qHD resolution of 480x 800 is not the highest out there, it still offers superb display quality, thanks largely to its Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen technology, which delivers superb colour rendering, brightness (even in direct sunlight) and wide viewing angles.
As far as processing power goes, the Samsung Galaxy S2 was until recently one of the most powerful phones available. It has a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, which delivers all the computing power you need to run demanding applications and multitask, and delivers great all round performance. The recent release of several quad-core devices like the HTC One X and LG Optimus 4X HD puts the Galaxy S2 somewhat behind in the professor stakes, but unless you are well versed in the intricacies of this technology you are unlikely to notice the difference.
If you are a fan of the Samsung Galaxy S2, you are sure to love the Samsung Galaxy S3. Due for release in the next few weeks, there are plenty of rumours which suggest the likes of an HD screen, 12 megapixel camera and quad core processor. If these turn out to be true, the Galaxy S3 will surely be one of the most exciting smartphone releases for quite a while, and may even give the upcoming iPhone 5 a run for its money.
