A Look Back On The Origin Of Barbecue

, a West Indian island, had a certain method of putting up a frame of wooden sticks over a fire to dry meat. In their local language, they called it "barbaca", in which a few years after that word was borrowed when the Spanish explorers arrived.

That word, "barbaca", also have been applied by Europeans in this era as some sort of a sleeping latform which is raised off the ground to reduce risks of getting bit by a snake. The only difference in the current use of the word is there is no fire underneath it. At this time, the word began to be more applied to cooking meat rather than drying it.

In the olden days, barbecue was simply considered as outdoor cooking. Back then, the animals were often cooked whole over a fire pit of hot coal Today, however, most people consider it a social event with neighbors and friends gathering during weekends to partake in an outdoor grill.

If you are interested in holding your own outdoor grill get-together, the first thing you need to do is get a barbecue grill. Once you've bought a grill, this is where it gets tricky especially when you're trying to save money, you might have to purchase a few grill add-ons and accessories. Read on the manual of the barbecue grill that you bought and look for a list of barbecues accessories that you can add.

Once you've checked it, list only those barbecues accessories that are essential to your grill and those that you will really use. Other items can follow soon to improve the whole process. The problem with buying all items at once is that it will make your grill look too so make sure that you take your time.

Some essential barbecues accessories that you will need are spatula, large cooking trays, tongs, grilling fork, cleaning and marinade brushes. Having these items saves you a lot on the grilling process and improves the cooking experience. To add to that, buy it in stainless steel for easy cleaning. Don't forget to evaluate all of these items before buying or you may end up having too much that you don't really need.
