An alternative to equivalent wattage is to check the lumens. Lumens may be a fairly new concept to customers more familiar with dealing in wattages. However, they are very straightforward. Lumens are a measurement of visible light which is calculated using a lumen reader. The higher the lumen output the brighter the bulb. You may need to do a little research to ascertain exactly how bright some lumen measurements are. The lumen output of a bulb should be expressed clearly in the product description or specifications and can vary depending on the colour temperature of the bulb.
The final option is to actually arrange to see the GU10 LED's in person. This is the safest and most confident method of determining their brightness. One option is to visit the show room of your retailer. If this is not viable for whatever reason, most companies offer a limited return day period, usually 14 to 28 days, to allow their customers to 'try out' bulbs before they buy.
