A Much Needed Road Trip

I worked at an advertising agency as a business development senior executive

. I can not say I did not like my job, in fact, I loved it. I was one of those lucky people who was doing what I loved to do. The thought of a pitch excited me and presentation were something I was as good at as Usain Bolt is at sprinting. However, it had been months since I had taken some time off and stepped out of the hustle and bustle of the city. The large number of pitches and meeting had worn me out and the creative juices had stopped flowing for the time being. I knew all I needed was some time off and I would be back to my best in the office.

I called up my buddies and we decided it was high time we made a road trip. We spoke about how much we wished we were still in college, when things plans like road trips were made at the drop of a hat. After further discussion and contemplation we decided to drive down to Manali. We all took a few days off from work and decided to set of on the coming Saturday morning. There were going to be 5 of us in total and considering how long it had been since we all took a holiday together, we were all going to make the most if this week. We all met below my building at 8am and loaded the car with all the bags and things. Manali was over 500 km away from Delhi, and so we were in for a long 12 hour drive. Each of us would be driving at some point, divided by 5 people; a 12 hour drive would not be as hectic. We exited the city within no time and were cruising past building after building. After driving for about 6 hours we reached Chandigarh. We immediately stopped for a much needed lunch break. It felt good getting out of the car and stretching our legs, and even better feasting on some aloo parathas and lassi. After stuffing our faces we were ready to hit the road again. As we crossed Chandigarh and entered Himachal Pradesh we saw the transition from plains to mountains, the wind became cooler and the dusty roads gave way to scenic mountains. After hours of driving through the uphill narrow road we finally entered Manali.

While unloading the car and walking towards my hotel room, I looked at my car, I was extremely happy with my cars performance through the course of this drive and not one of us had one complaint about the car. it was truly in my regard, the best family car in India.
