Behind the decor is furniture designer Werner Aisslinger (1964), one of Berlin's great sons.
He has worked with stars such as Jasper Morrison and Ron Arad in London. After he established himself with his own studio in Berlin, he has designed furniture and other interior products for the trendy Italian company Cappellini, Magis, and Zanotta. Aisslinger has also designed for the Jaguar and Daimler Chrysler and his living space "Loftcube" has already become a modern architecture icon.

Famous is also the East Side Gallery. It's the wildly decorated remains of the Berlin Wall which is located just five minutes from the hotel.

* On foot: A stroll down the main street Unter der Linden is mandatory. By observing the buildings on both sides, you can read some of Berlin's turbulent history.
* The obvious center: Potsdamer Platz is a good and important clue. In the twenties, this was one of Europe's busiest urban spaces. Now the place with movie museum Berlin and New National Gallery and modern architecture has a new timeliness.
* Museums: The rebuilt museum on Museum Island offers a variety of great art collections. The Jewish Museum designed by Daniel Liebe Kind is also a must.
* Panorama. From the glass dome of the new restored Reichstag building you have a vast view over Berlin.
