A Nicer Looking Ford Ka

Ford has been producing the KA city car since 1996; the second generation was introduced in 2008

. The new Ford KA was built in conjunction with Fiats 500 model at Fiats Tychy plant in Poland. The new KA conveys Fords new Kinetic Design philosophy and looks very much like a modern day Ford with square angles and curved lines mixed together.

Ford has really gone all out on the accessories inside the KA, Bluetooth phone connection, wireless voice control, a USB port, a CD Radio, MP3, an AUX connector, steering wheel audio controls and a speaker system consisting of six speakers, a subwoofer and an amplifier are now available.

The 2008 Ford KA is available with a choice of 2 engines, a diesel and a petrol. The 1.2 litre petrol comes with 69bhp; the 1.3 litre TDCI diesel produces 75bhp. Both the petrol and diesel engines fall under the 120g/km CO2 emissions category, 119 for the petrol and 112 for the diesel.

The new Ford Ka in Sittingbourne has achieved an overall Euro NCAP safety rating of 4 stars, with standard driver and passenger single stage front airbags, ABS, immobiliser, hazard warning lights and remote central locking.

Although based on the Fiat 500, Ford was able to make some tweaks to the suspension of the KA to make it a better drive than the 500. The Ford KA is nimble through the corners and accurate to steer through the tight city streets it is designed to combat. For a small city car the ride is quite firm, but it is comfortable and gives a sporty setup enabling the KA to be great fun to drive around town.
