, also known as natural hormone therapy, refers to the use of hormones that are identical on molecular basis. The term is also linked up with pharmacy, compounding, blood and saliva testing which is an effort to reach the specific level of hormones in the body. Hormones included in BHRT are estrone, estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone and estriol.

Until such evidence are provided the risks should be treated as if they were similar and that compounded hormones may have increased risks related to compounding. A major safety concern in the therapy is there is no requirement of package inserts associated with hormone replacement therapy. Regulatory bodies require pharmacies to include safety information with convention of the therapy; it is safe and has got no side effects.
