The optimal diet for preventing or improving acne breakouts is the Divide Your Plate In Four. Eat 1/4 protein, 1/4 whole grain complex carbohydrates, and 1/4 each of fruits and vegetables.

Foods high in zinc have been shown to reduce the appearance of acne. Nuts, wholegrains and figs contain high quantities of zinc.
