A Palestinian State And Cufi

An interim Palestinian state inside the disputed area of Judea and Samaria will not go well for CUFI-Christians United for Israel. The reason for this is simple; Evangelical Christians support and believe that all the land of Israel from the Jordan River to the Sea belongs to the Jewish people. The creation of an independent Palestinian state inside Judea and Samaria would be a violation of what Bible Christians believe and support. The idea of recognizing a terrorist state inside Israel in any fashion would immediately loose support from Evangelicals Christians. In good conscience, Christians cannot support a state whose goal is to destroy Israel and who have no ancient historical claim to the land and to Jerusalem. What would CUFI do if the government of Israel proceeds with the concept of an interim Palestinian state? CUFI is in a precarious position their goal and position is clearly in opposition to what Netanyahu government is trying to do, create a gradual interim Palestinian state inside Israel.

One concept that is circulating on all sides of the spectrum is to fully support an Independent state of Judea with Jerusalem as its capitol. Presently,there is a growing grass root movement among settlers, academia, and a number of high-ranking military officials and leaders who would support the establishment of an independent state of Judea if push comes to shove. The state of Judea would be the borders of the previous state of Judea in Biblical times or somethingclose toit. For sure, Gaza would not be controlled by Hamas and Jews would once again live in Gaza.

CUFI has committed itself in supporting the State of Israel, but does this mean supporting an independent state of Palestine inside Israel? This would be a contradiction to the very tenets it has been espousing for the past five years. Israel knows that Evangelicals support the Jewish state of Israel, but having a terrorist state inside Israel would be a curse. The only true friend Israel has right now, are Evangelicals and loosing support from them for an independent state called Palestine, in the disputed areas would be too much to handle.

Prime Minister Netanyahu must consider the ramifications of creating an interim state inside Judea and Samaria. If something like this were to take place, he can be assured that he will loose support from Evangelicals. Christians who believe in the Hebrew Bible would not support the dividing of the land that God promised to the Jewish people. Prime Minister Netanyahu must have the support and commitment of Evangelicals in order to diffuse the present crisis and bring some peace, it cannot be done by giving up land and taking the platform of appeasement. Since Jordan is Palestine, theinternational communitycan join hands in helping Palestinians have a state of their own, east of the Jordan River. If this could happen, it would bring stability to the region.

At the present time, CUFI should do everything possible to persuade Prime Minister Netanyahu to disengage in the concept of an interim Palestinian state and continue building in Judea and Samaria. Israel must be courageous and show the world that no one has the right to dictate who can live or not live in her land.
