A Panic Attack Trigger And A Hidden Cause

A panic attack trigger can be almost anything we can think of! It is even more troublesome to deal with when we have no idea what causes it

. Sometimes we may have an idea what it is. This can be vague however, but let us try to clear some of this up.

For us to get to the source of the problem, we need to trace everything back. If we have a panic attack, it is caused by fear, anxiety, or thoughts of worry. Something triggers this, and may come from a particular situation. This situation is generally thought of as the cause, and we begin to avoid anything or place similar to it.

This is not entirely true however, and the hidden cause still exists. It is not the situation itself we need to focus our attention on, but the thoughts it can produce! A single thought usually starts off neutral, and is gradually expanded upon. The thought continues this until it is completely out of context, and we find ourselves having a panic attack.

Now let us back up a moment here. The thoughts we have can be a critical component in this equation. What we can do, is pay attention to our thoughts and keep some sort of a journal. How can we do this when we may experience thousands of thoughts each day?

It can be done if we isolate the situations that are relevant to us and panic attacks. If we get anxious and have had a panic attack on a bus before, this is a situation we can pay attention to our thoughts and write them down when we get a chance. Track these thoughts back to the original one, and this can lead to greater insight about ourselves.

So what we may call a panic attack trigger, can be derived from a single thought! We may not be able to stop all thoughts from doing their damage. Some thoughts may even reside at a subconscious level.
