If you are using windows XP operating system, click on the button namely Start, situated on the bottom left corner of your window, under run command textbox, type a command namely Firewall.cpl, and click Ok. After that, under the tab namely General, click the radio button namely Off, and then click the button Ok again for disabling the firewall.

Install New Firewall: After that, run a setup file for installing a new firewall, and quickly test its existence in the control panel.
