The Japanese-Swedish joint venture is well known for its high-end and stylish devices, heavy marketing campaigns and ambitious innovations. Right now, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 is one of the most anticipated devices of 2010 as it promises to deliver the very first 1GHz Snapdragon Android mobile phone to the market; technically the Acer Liquid is the first Snapdragon Android phone, but it is under clocked at a speed far below 1GHz. Aside from the X10, the company has several other amazing mobile phones set to be launched. The Greenheart Series One of the ventures most promising phone-series is the Greenheart phones. This shows how much emphasis the company places upon evolving green technology and eco-friendly engineering. The use of recycled plastics, non-toxic chemicals, and having a low carbon emission rating is emphasized with this label. Under this label, the SE Elm and SE Hazel will be released. Both devices will be made under the Greenheart production standards. Sony is currently aiming to make all their device accessories Greenheart compliant as well. The two phones are media and browsing centric UMTS devices. The Elm is a standard candy bar phone slated for a Q1 2010 release while the Hazel is a slider device that is expected to arrive by Q2 of 2010. The XPERIA Series As said above, 2010 will see the release of the X10 Android smart phone. This little Snapdragon will also have a 4 inch 480 x 854 pixel screen as well as an 8 mega pixel camera. Impressive as it is, this will not be the only XPERIA device that is coming. Leading the pack is the delayed XPERIA X2; which was supposed to be launched late 2009 but has been pushed back to a first week of January 2010 release. This smart phone combines a resistive touch screen and the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system. New to the XPERIA series is the Pureness. This concept phone may seem strange, but it functions nicely. Expect many people to take notice of its fully transparent screen. It is said that the device is capable of internet browsing and other functions but the monochrome screen may be a bit of a limitation. SE is marketing this device as more of an art piece than a mobile phone, with the screen imitating the calmness of water. Also new to this device is the Pureness Concierge service, which grants special international privileges to the owner (as long as the device is purchased from an affiliated country). The Kurara and More Following in the footsteps of the SE Satio is the Sony Ericsson Kurara. While some people may feel that having another Symbian device may not be a good thing for Sony (since the Satio got suspended from sales for a while due to many firmware issues the problem was later fixed and the device has been put back into shelves), the move to create a new Symbian phone is a testament to the ventures ability to produce devices for almost any OS. The Kuraras biggest feature is its ability to capture videos in 720p HD quality. It also comes with a large capacitive touch screen display and a new UI.About the Author:
