It is hard to remember a mobile phone release that has recieved as much public attention as the Apple iPhone 4

. A comprehensive range of features immediately appeals, but the new design is also winning many plaudits. Now the long awaited white model is available, interest in the phone looks set to be reignited.

Over the past three and half years since the original iPhone was launched, several updated models have been released. These releases have always featured useful if unspectacular changes. In light of competing manufacturers releasing ever more impressive models, Apple have decided the time is right to not only completely overhaul the phone but also inject some exciting new functions. At just 9.3mm, the new iPhone 4 White is the slimmest hanset available, and this is thanks to the brave decision to position the antenna, usually located internally, on the outside of the chassis. What this means is that not only is depth reduced, but reception is improved. The antenna now takes the form of a stainless steel band that encases all four sides of the phone, also giving the phone an all together more luxury look. The front and back of the phone are constructed from two sheets of toughened glass. Not only is this glass incredibly durable, but also means that the white phone is now distinctly different from the black version, rather than just boasting a different coloured back.

Just like its predecessors', the iPhone 4 White features an impressive range of features for multi media fans. The most significant upgrade is with regards to video capture. The handset can now film in 720P resolution at a rate of 30 frames per second. This is what is commonly known as High Definition and brings the phone with the majority of home visual products that also support this standard. What it also means is that your captured footage can be viewed on your large screen television in superb quality. For users who want to take things a little furthe, a new application has been launched to coincide with this model named iMovie. This adds a bit of fun to the video experience by allowing you to perform basic editing techniques such as adding titles and changing the transition between segments of your film. The iPhone 4 now offers a 5 mega pixel still camera facility, an improvement of 2 million pixels from the 3GS. A handy LED flash is now included as is a digital zoom facility. On the front of the phone you will find a second camera, with its primary function being to enable users to utilise the Facetime method of making a video call.

This latest iPhone release sees Apple totally overshadow the barrage of phones being released this summer with an unrivalled display, a sleek new design and a feature list that is really difficult to be improved upon.

The iPhone 4 is available soon in a white finish, adding a further touch of desirability to what is already a feature laden and very functional handset.
