A Review Of The Brilliant Motorola Milestone 2

The original Motorola Milestone proved an incredibly popular handset when it was

released thanks to its excellent Android operating system and full Qwerty keypad. The manufacturers have decided to stick to a fairly similar formula, with a few welcome improvements too.

Perhaps the most distinctive difference between the Milestone 2 and its predecessor is the addition of Motoblur, the manufacturers excellent own user interface. Motoblur simplifies the way you use your mobile phone. Social networking updates, e mails, photographs and contacts are all synchronised, meaning you will receive continuous real time updates and there is no need for any loading of individual applications, all your data is at your fingertips as and when you need it. Another excellent feature of Motoblur is is data back up system, meaning that if you switch handsets in the future, all of your data can be instantly transferred to your new phone. Another change to the phones original format is the removal of the large navigation pad. The room that this has created has allowed the keypads keys to be made bigger, ultimately providing a more satisfying experience when composing text messages and e mails. A 3.7" capacitive touchscreen boasts an excellent resolution of 480 x 854 with the capability of displaying over 16 million colours. The display supports multi touch, meaning excellent features such as pinch and zoom can also be utilised.

Media features on the Motorola Milestone 2 are impressive. The camera facility can capture a 5 mega pixel image. This is accompanied by additional features such as a digital zoom, autofocus and a flash facility. Video footage can also be recorded. The audio facility can handle a variety of formats including MP3, eAAC+ and WAV. Thanks to the massive 8GB of internal memory, there is plenty of room for storage of your files. A micro SD card slot is also fitted should you need to further increase this storage space. The handset can handle card sizes up to 32GB. WiFi connectivity is supported by the phone, but for those times when you are on the move the phone benefits from 3G, EGDE, GPRS and GSM support, ensuring you of the fastest possible data transfer available. The handset can also be used as a standalone modem with a laptop for times when you are out of WiFi range.

The Motorola Milestone 2 looks to build upon the success of the original model with some excellent improvements, superb processor power and an excellent combination of Android and Motoblur technologies.
