This technology deals with Genetic Engineering which is the cell and tissue culture of plants and animals. It uses the concepts of different branches of science like cell biology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics and molecular biology. The knowledge derived from all these branches are used mainly for the expansion and alteration of living organisms to provide answers to several unanswered questions. It also involves plant and animal nurturing. By adopting the methods like artificial selection, hybridization and breeding, various kinds of plants are cultivated in Biotechnological plants.

The chief job of Biotechnological plants is to produce effective medicines and other health care products. It provides affordable medicines and simple methods for medicines manufacture. It uses the concept of Genetic engineering which is a breakthrough in medical world. Biotechnology has found out the preventives for various life threatening diseases like multiple sclerosis, cancer, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, arthritis, haemophilia and several cardiovascular disorders. It has contributed a lot to this world by providing efficient medicines which can cure many deadly diseases.

Apart from medical sector, Biotechnological plants have proved their proficiency in other sectors also. It has given new dimensions to food and food products industries. Its major area of concern is to increase protein rich crop yield along with making these crops resistant to various abiotic and biotic factors. Quality and quantity of fruits has been increased by increasing the ripening span and decreasing their spoilage. All the products are utilized to maximum extent. For example, fatty acids are produced from oil seeds which can be utilized for the fabrication of detergents, substitute fuels and petrochemicals. Investigation of genes present in different plants and other living beings are going on consistently. Biotechnology is thriving hard to make this world disease free.
