A Scottish Car Of The Year Award For The Popular Mazda3

The popular Mazda3 was among the cars to be honoured at this year's Scottish Car of the Year Awards

The Association of Scottish Motoring Writers voted the Mazda3 the best family car. The Mazda3 was rated the best in its category on the strength of its style, comfort, performance and fuel economy at the prestigious awards ceremony in St Andrews.

The president of the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers, Bill Caven, revealed that the standard at this year's Scottish Car of the Year Awards was very high and that judges found it very difficult to pick overall winners in each category.

Mr Caven said "I think it reflects greatly on the motor industry that it has risen to the challenges being currently placed on them".

The managing director of Mazda UK, Jeremy Thomson, added that Mazda were "truly delighted" to win the award and described the accolade as "further confirmation" why the Mazda3 is one of its most popular models in its class in the UK.
