A Short Chronicle Of Mercedes-benz And Some Of Their Most Well-known Motors
Even though the business was the first to hold a patent for a petrol machine normally
fitted to their stage coaches, it was only in 1901 when their first automobile creation was issued and it was 27 years later when the firm changed its name to Mercedes-Benz.
From then on, the firm has become synonymous with advanced design, technology and safety features making many of the firm's cars one some of the most desirable on the planet.
These designs have dictated the benchmark for new vehicle interpretation and include the internal combustion engine, the honeycomb radiator, the float carburettor, the "drop chassis", 4-wheel braking and crumple regions for augmented safety in a crash. All these key characteristics have become the guideline all other vehicles are based upon.
In recent times, Mercedes have produced the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) which increases the car journey and offers the driver greater control of their car.
The very first Mercedes automobile was made in 1928 and known as the Mercedes-Benz SSK, which was a vehicle able to reach top speeds of up to 120 miles per hour and was the world's fastest car when it went on public sale. Thanks to this speed it was the most successful sports car of its generation.
The Mercedes-Benz 260 D was the next major success story which saw the light of day in 1936 and was only the second vehicle to have a diesel engine fitted to it.
Throughout the 1950s Mercedes had a lot of success with the Mercedes-Benz Type 300, which was the fifties equivalent of the modern S-Class. It was powerful, elegant and exclusive.
Then in the nineties, Mercedes-Benz released their C-Class something which evolved into the CLC-Class, CLK-Class, C-Class Sportcoupe, and the E-class Coupe.
These motors built up an esteemed picture of the German firm, marketing a brand identification for its clients. Throughout the years the company have also demonstrated that they can produce luxurious vehicles and have garnered lots of trophies for their cars.
Despite some initial success in the fifties, Mercedes-Benz didn't become prominent within Formula One until the 1990s. Brawn GP, the newly made Formula One team of Ross Brawn in 2009 used Mercedes engines to help win the constructor's championship. Due to this success Brawn GP was then renamed Mercedes GP for the 2010 season.
Continuing with the company's original thinking, Mercedes have also begun to dabble in the environmentally-friendly market with many low carbon automobiles being released. Of these automobiles, the F700 trial vehicle was shown to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show and in 2009 the Mercedes-Benz S400 Blue HYBRID and Mercedes-Benz Blue ZERO were both ready for consumers to try-out. These automobiles transmit only 74 grams of CO2 emissions giving a clear conscious to eco-friendly drivers who are in the market for a Mercedes-Benz leasing deal.
Now the low carbon automobiles are growing in evermore prominence the corporation is trying to engineer new Elektrobay recharging units which are at the moment being placed in strategic areas around the UK.
