. It is a collection of videos, images, and other digital information that is addressed with the same domain name or IP address.

A webpage is a document that is written in plain text interspersed by HTML (hypertext markup language) with formatting instructions. These are transported and accessed through HTTP (hypertext transfer protocol) that may employ encryption s that provide privacy and security to the contents of the web page user according to his/her preferences.

A static website has web pages stored in the server in the same format as it is sent to a web browser client. This is commonly known as hypertext markup language or HTML

Marketing example and simple forms of websites are static websites like a brochure website or a classic website. They all provide pre-defined static information to the user. Such data may include information's regarding a manufacturer and its products and the services that they provide. These information's may be presented in the web page through videos, images, text and even interactive navigations.

Static websites display the same information to all its visitors and provide standard and consistent information's. Just like handing out brochures to consumers. However, the owner of the website may make updates on occasions. Revisions on the website by the owners are done on a manual process when editing a text, images and other contents of the website. Yet it may require some basic website design skills and softwares.

With static websites, visitor have no control to what information they will receive upon visiting the website and therefore settle to whatever information or content the website owner has offered them for the time being.

Static website is edited by using four categories of software. The first category is the Text editors like the notepad where it is used to manipulate the HTML and content. The second category is the WYSIWYG offline editors like the adobe dream weaver where the final HTML markup is automatically generated using the GUI interface. The next category is the WYSIWYG online editors that create media rich presentations such as blogs, widgets and other documents. The last category is the template based editors that allows users to create and upload quickly web pages into a web server without the need for any HTML knowledge.

Static websites are more basic and simple to use. They require no codes just pain texts and other software's have made it even easier to upload images directly without directly manipulating the HTML code.
