A Story of Battery and Its Life

Can you live without batteries? Well I know, the answer would be NO!! Our lives are

so dependent on batteries and our important devices like, portable cell phones, MP3 players, and PCs, laptops all need assistance of it. Do you know how exactly a battery works? A battery is basically a container which contains chemicals that generate electrons. Chemical reactions that generate electrons are called electrochemical reactions.

Take a close look at a battery you will observe that it has two ends. One points to positive or (+), while the further is pointed as negative or (-). In small batteries there are ends whereas in big batteries for example a car battery has big terminals.

Electrons gather on the negative end of the battery. The two ends need to be connected by a wire if the electrons have to flow from one end to the other. Usually a load is connected to the battery like bulb or some motor.

When the chemical reaction begins it starts to regularize the flow of electron flowing from one end to another. It is important to note that the electrons always flow from negative to the positive else the chemical reaction will not complete its cycle and battery will not work.

This was the small story of a batteries life. A simple container has changed the world around us. But people don't know the proper way to utilize their batteries power and complain about poor performances of their devices. The problem actually lies in its use. Similarly as the global environment is changing we should be more alert and aware of radiation produced by cells and batteries. Using rechargeable battery is a smart option and can reduce the pollution drastically.

So, think twice before wasting your batteries.Always remember we have invented these great devices for making our life easy and convenient, not to become a slave of their services.
