A Teachers Advice For Students
Students in the present scenario face a tough competition at all levels
. No matter which region they belong to, no matter in which standard they are, students across the world strive very hard to outshine their peers and emerge as a topper. With the intention to give a right direction to this vast community of students through my next article I went to a renowned teacher and asked in him for his advices to the students of the present time. He raised concern about the way students study and seemed happy about the ruthless competition that prevails. Below are some of the pieces of advice that he gives to his students-
1. Dont hesitate to ask: Students in a classroom should not hesitate while asking their doubts in the class, no matter how small it might be. Students often think, what the peer group would think about me, if the doubt turns out to be very silly. This is a very common thought that haunts many students, although it should not. Students must understand that if they dont clear a doubt hovering in their mind, it would subsequently lead to several other doubts and confuse them throughout their learning. Kill the beast as soon as possible.
2. If you are an introvert then clear your doubts through e-mails: If you are an introvert, then that should not be the reason for a student to pile up the doubts. Students should ask their teachers for their email id and get their doubts cleared through emails.
3. Do sincere home study everyday: Most of the students commit the mistake of studying just before exams. Ask the toppers, they dont adhere to such a practice. If students wish to perform well in academics, they must do regular
home study. Students must study the lessons as soon as they are taught in the school. This would help them learn at ease and before exams and they would have to only revise the syllabus. On the other hand if they start studying just before exams, they will have to cram a lot of stuff in a short span of time and hence their learning wont be very effective.
4. Dont confine your learning only to books: In the present scenario those who confine their studies or learning only to books must be considered as laggards. Everybody has an internet connection but most of the students use it just for chatting, listening music, playing games etc. Only few make a productive use of it and those few succeed. Students must use internet for learning. It is a very huge source of learning. One should pursue
online courses, learn from educational Youtube videos, read articles and reports, and do many other productive activities with the help of internet.
5. Interact with international students: Students must be like a frog in the well. In the present IT era when the world has shrunk and people have come closer to each other, students should interact with other international students. This helps them expand the reach of their thoughts and ideas. Students can learn a lot from each other across the borders.
