Kovalam is a mall village on the Malabar Coast in the state of Kerala. This town came into picture and became a favorite tourist destination when some of its marvelous beaches were found.

Now Kovalam is one of the most sought after holiday destination where one can have fun one the amazing beaches. The word Kovalam means a thicket of coconut trees. The coconut trees grow here in large number along the sea beaches and give the most striking look. The viewers get awestruck to see the beauty and serenity of the place.

The hotels in Kovalam offer to the visitors a relaxed stay. The endless water of Arabian Sea which is stretched for miles and the white sand spread all over the beaches makes this land a living heaven. Here one can see the stalwart palms and rocky peninsula. Here one can have the best time and enjoy their holidays to the max.

There is lots that a person can explore on this place here one can get large variety of handicrafts, clothes, jewellery shops etc. one can also go for some recreational activities like sunbathing and swimming. The availability of delicious food attracts the visitors to large extent.

The beaches of kovalam are in crescent shape and are divided into 3 parts. The Light House beach is the most well known beach and it is situated in the southern most part of the village. Vizhinzam mosque which is located close by gives a spectacular view to the spectators.

Hawah beach is situated in the middle of the village. The beach is thronged by the local fishermen. Samudra is the northern most beach of the village and generally remained unaffected.

The travelers can enjoy the performance by the Kathakali performers in the evening. This is the well known classical dance of Kerala which are admired and enjoyed by the tourists. There is lots of accommodation facility in Kovalam, there are many hotels which one suit to the pockets of the travelers.

Kovalam also provides with a well developed health center and yoga center. Here one can take ayurvedic massage and oil bath to relax the body. The meditation classes are given by the trainers over here.
