. Being a part of this global festival is simply a one in a lifetime opportunity. After all, where else can you such diversity in terms of cultures, people, cuisines etc. On top of everything else, you can witness the beauty of sports at its very best.
Won't it be simply awesome if you club your Olympics experience with a visit to the serene and traditional town of Suffolk? Suffolk is one of the very few surviving non-metropolitan countries in the world. Imagine visiting a country that still exists without a single metropolitan city- it is like time travelling back to an era where life moved along at a leisurely place. This could be your chance to experience the beauty of such a life.
Suffolk is about an hour's drive from Stratford. You could simply hire a car and drive all the way to Suffolk. Alternatively, you could take the train which should also take roughly the same time. Ipswich is one of the country town of Suffolk and there are so many historic places to visit both in and around this town that it might actually take you a whole week to see all of them- Farmlingham Castle, Glemham Hall, Helmingham Hall, Somerleyton Hall, St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Orford Castle and the list is endless.
Once you have had your share of history and tradition, you can entertain yourself by attending one of the many art and culture events that take place regularly or head out for a sunbath to one of the beautiful beaches in Suffolk. Luckily for you, the Olympics are being held around the month of August which is the best time to visit this country. The weather is bright and sunny which will make your visit to Suffolk even more enjoyable and memorable.
Tourism is a huge industry in Suffolk and there are many tourist attractions available for you. If you are going with family, there are amusement parks which your kids will love, or you could go rowing in a boat with the majestic castles in the background. And what trip is complete without at least one shopping spree. You could head out to the markets to buy souvenirs for friends and traditional English things for yourself.
And how can we forget the culinary treat that Suffolk offers. You could either visit one of the many farms and barns and vineyards and buy fresh products from the farmer's market or you could head out to the renowned Suffolk Food Hall for some delicious, mouth-watering food.
So, if you are still planning your trip to the London Olympics, make sure to save a few days for the wonders that Suffolk promises to offer. It is just one hour away from where you will be and if you have come all the way, why miss out on such an amazing experience. A word of caution though- you must get your reservations done well in advance because Suffolk is expecting a lot of tourist attention due to the Olympics. Not only will be very difficult finding accommodations, the prices would rise up drastically as well. Therefore, call your travel agent now or log on to the internet and make the necessary arrangements as soon as you can.
