This marvelous family destination provides activities that can be enjoyed year round. The "Waves" swim park has been completely renovated and provides a gym, swimming pool, children's swim area and play area, a wonderful wave machine and regular activities for visitors. In April, the Fun Fair is a great way to experienced the fun of an old fashioned fair with children's rides, booths, arts and unique gifts, great food and wonderful ales.

If you like to play golf and have never experienced the challenge of 18 holes near the sea, you will want to visit the Whitley Bay Golf Club. The club offers both championship and county play to beginner and experienced golfers. A person who enjoys sports will also find active rugby and football teams that play regularly throughout the season.

The North Tyneside International Youth Football Tournament held in July is a great way to watch young, potential champions play football and vie for the championship. In December the Whitley Bay St. Nicholas Festival begins in the Town Centre with a wonderful Christmas Market. The Annual X-Mas Pudding Fun Run is a wonderful way to help support a local school and gives a runner the chance to spend some time with other avid athletes in a 3.5 mile run through beautiful countryside and around Whitley Bay.

Park View Shopping Centre is a shoppers paradise with marvelous specialty shops and High Street retailers located in an enclosed area. Spend time wandering through the wonderful little shops and eating regional foods at the restaurants, cafes, and bistros that dot the area.

Built in 1863, St. Paul's Church is a must see for the history lover. This beautifully maintained church is still active and has lovely architecture. The St. Paul's Bell Ringers have the same history as the church with the bells still rung regularly throughout the year.
