After you have three years experience you will get the title of web designer level II. You not only know how to do the things in level I but, now you can plan the web pages. When there is not a big demand then the pay could be less yearly. Remember the more schooling you have with the different degrees, the easier it will be to find a job at the entry level. Over time as you get more experience and become better and meeting deadlines the more likely it is that you will get promoted.
A good piece of advice is keeping your portfolio growing as the years go by. Every time you make a new website take pictures of it and tuck it away. This helps to show others the kind of websites you are able to create. A web designer salary depends on how much experience you have in the field.
