Why should you go to the trouble of converting to a windmill powered lifestyle

? With all the hassle involved in this fundamental of a change, why is it worth it?

I mean, changing the way we make power is going to be a hassle, right? Nobody likes to change something this basic, but as a society we may not have a choice because our options in other areas are going away.

These are reasons you will benefit from windmill powered homes...

The power you make is free - There is just no way that you can beat free anything. Free energy means that you can power more and more of your world and justify greater expansion of your electronic universe without fearing that you are driving your power costs through the roof like you would be doing if you are purchasing that same energy from a traditional utility. That being said, it is unlikely that you will completely sever your connection with the utility you now use. It is a lot more likely that you will power one or 2 devices around your house with the wind turbine at first. However, as wind turbines become more and more efficient, you will find that it is more advantageous to buy those wind turbines than it would be to purchase your energy from the utility at all.

The power you make is clean - Pollution comes from utility generating plants. While there is a lot of pollution that comes from other sources like cars, the majority of smoke and noxious materials in the atmosphere and water comes from the generation of power through coal burning utility power plants. By using windmill powered devices, you are not contributing to the pollution anymore.

The power you make is forever - We are all somewhat nervous about the Middle East and how their capricious attitude towards the West could undermine our energy intensive lifestyles. By using windmill powered devices, you are taking control of your energy destiny and the fact that this energy will be available to you forever should give you some level of confidence in your future.

In conclusion, a windmill powered life is where the future is heading. Even if we come up with some new super fuel that does not require massive infrastructure to deploy, it is likely that renewable sources like wind power, will still be used because of the fact that they will go on forever and make free power until they eventually fail and need replacing.
