Any room looks ordinary without a carpet. A carpet makes the room look beautiful and more sophisticated. We are able to decorate our rooms beautifully because of the hard working carpet manufacturers. Carpet manufacturing can be either done by hand or by machine. The raw materials used to make carpet are either synthetic or natural. Carpets are classified as durable, low cost and good looking depending on the type of raw materials used. The processes by which the two different i.e., handmade and machine made carpets are manufactured are different.
People mostly prefer the handmade ones because they are long lasting and good looking. Handmade carpets are mostly made from natural fibers whereas man made fibers are actually plastic polymers that are mostly used in machine made carpets. Sometimes man made plastic fibers look durable due to the base in which it is kept while manufacture but there is a disadvantage and that is the fiber gets torn at the base due to use. You will observe one thing in handmade carpets and that is these ate much light in weight in comparison to machine made carpets.
The carpet manufacturing process starts by sorting of the fibers for dust and damages. The wools are then washed and dried. Then the wools undergo a process called carding to blend the wools together. The blended fibers are then spun in wheels and then set out for drying. The dyed wools are then sent in looms for weaving where the designs are trimmed and left in sunlight for drying. Finally the carpets are packed in plastic bags.
