A nation with Short Memory

A nation with Short Memory
Almost like Yesterday, wehave all forgotten what happened to nations with short memories, when millions were losing their jobs every month, with no credit facility to run businesses, when the most powerful nation had lost all its friends under the last leadership, the nation lived in fear of tomorrow, the nations international passport was even difficult to display in some part of world capitals.
All the Banks witnessed capital flights from other nations, but God never stopped loving the nation that gave freedom to Europe during the world wars and cold war eras thatmade America very conducive for others to leave everything behindfrom other parts of the world to come over. Some died in the desert crossing just to taste freedom often seen on the American movies as ideal for human race.
The new President rolled his sleeves to work, he said at his acceptance speech in Chicago that the job at hand will be touch; he said Americans may not expect miracles in the first term of his presidency; he was honest to a fault. He looked his countrymen in the eyes and asked for cooperation from all parties, But it was not to last. Within 16 months in office he increased the minimum wage to $7.25 for the average workers, he took the powerful on a challenge, the insurance the banks and everything he could lay his hand on, his foes says he was handling too much but the economy was like a total broken car that needed to fixed all together, Just as soon as he put the Health Care Bill behind him the BP Oil spillage cast a doubt on his leadership.
The Biblical Israel was the first nation of people to forget the memory of the past. Moses was chosen by Yahweh the God of Israel to deliver his people from the claws of Egypt that had enslaved them for hundreds of years. The Bible says Israel became slaves and builders of pyramids because a Pharaoh that failed to recognize the past contributions of Joseph.
A nation that cried for help after crossing the Red Sea suddenly abused Moses and his God; Israel made Moses to sin against Yahweh which deprived him the opportunity of seeing the Promised Land. Israeli's belligerent and ungratefulness never stopped until it demanded for a King like Egypt or other nations and Saul became the first King in the eyes of Israel.
The rivalry between the new King Saul and last prophetic leader Samuel never stopped until Yahweh finally changed strategy with the selection of David the son of Jesse.
Yahweh dumped the prophet to please his people and Samuel died an unhappy man because the role of the Prophet became secondary in the body politics of Israel a fact he could not handle, even in death Samuel hated Saul, he cursed King Saul and his household over what?
King David a perfect king in eyes of Yahweh committed lots of sins more than King Saul who never found favor in the eyes of Yahweh from the beginning.
Saul committed just one sin David committed all sins in the Ten Commandment, yet he was loved by Yahweh, the love was so strong that Yahweh said" I could have destroyed Israel but for my love for David," that was the King David that raped, that killed and even stole from the house of God. Yahweh played his favoritism to anyone he loves.
The last of the most prominent of the prophets was Elijah, he like the Moses stood on the part of Yahweh, he was so carried away that he killed all the prophet of Baal's when they failed to invoke fire from heaven but Elijah, like the Biblical Moses failed to understand the mind of Yahweh, he was condemned and to save his demised from mother earth the Bibles says he was taken away by the chariot of fire to heaven,
When Yahweh finally realized Israel was a nation of very short memory like "what do have for me now not what you have done for me in the past" Yahweh sent his only begotten son Jesus to deliver his people from their wicked ways and despite Yahweh open confirmation on Jesus, first at the time he was baptized and when he Jesus was on the Mountain and thirdly with presence of Moses the law giver, and Elijah.
Israel remained a nation still with very short memory and Jesusdespite all hand writings as the son of Yahweh all over his actions was never accepted by Israel as the son of the living God. Today, several thousands of years after the death of Christ, only five percent of Israel is Christians the rest remain and buried in Judaism the foundation of their disrespect for Yahweh.
The Bible is a living Book for all that cares to read to understand the mind of Yahweh the God of Israel, which is rather okay to be on the side of God than on the side of people.
Finally, how will Barack Obama's Presidency be seen by the Americans at the end ofhis first term? Will it be in the same eyes as that of King Saul or King David? Will he be dumped like Yahweh dumped Saul for David or will his sins be forgotten like David? The events of BP oil spillage in Gulf of Mexico will consume his good intention. The Presidency needs prayers in the mist of all these unfolding events because my Bible tells me to pray for my leaders
May God Bless his people and this nation.
