In the following conditions, EFFEXOR may require dose adjustments or some scientific special test may be required to be conducted on the patient:-

1. Bipolar Disorder( manic episodes in BD)

2. Cirrhosis or other liver disease

3. Kidney problems

4. High Blood Pressure

5. High Cholesterol

6. Glaucoma

7. Seizures or in Epilepsy

8. Blood Clotting Disorder

There should be regular follow up with the doctor during the time of taking EFFEXOR, most importantly in the first twelve weeks of treatment or when there is dose titration. All the family members must be closely knit to observe any mood swings and other symptoms in the patient so that the same can be effectively communicated to the doctor for better results.

Effexor (venlafexine) is a pregnancy Category C drug as approved by FDA. It should not be administered during breast feeding a child. Conditions like pregnancy and breast feeding etc should be aptly put in the knowledge of the doctor before continuing with any medicament.
