Aamir Khan born Aamir Hussain Khan on 14 March 1965) is an Indian film actor
, director and producer. Khan has worked in a number of critically and commercially successful films and has established himself as one of the leading actors of Hindi cinema.[1][2][3] He is also the founder-owner of Aamir Khan Productions.

Aamir Khan was born on 14th March 1965. He is not just one of the leading actors in the Hindi film industry but also a producer and a director. Over his 22 year of acting he has given several hits that have given him the reputation of being an excellent actor and a perfectionist.
He did his debut in Bollywood as a child artist in his uncle's film Yaadon Ki Baaraat. He did Holi in 1984, which was his first film as a lead actor. But he got his first hit film in the form of Qayaamat Se Qayamaat Tak in 1988. He won the Filmfare award for the same. Also recognized him as one of the lead actors and termed him as a "chocolate hero." He did many romantic films during that period: Dil in 1990, Dil Hai Ke Maanta Nahi in 1991 and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar in 1992 and Rangeela in 19950. He starred in Hum Hai Rahin Pyar Ke and also wrote the screenplay for it. He did Andaaz Apna Apna, which received bad reviews from the critics but is regarded as a classic even today.
He continued doing just one or two films every year. His next film Raja Hindustani with Karisma Kapoor in 1996 was a huge box office hit but it was the only film he did that year. It also got him his first Filmfare Best Actor award. The mid 90's were not a very good time in this carrier. Most of his films did only moderately well.
His film Ghulam was highly anticipated but did not receive the success that was anticipated. He also did playback singing for a song in Ghulam.
Sarfarosh was his next film, which was critically acclaimed though it did not bring in the moo-lah. Mela, his film with his brother Faisal was a huge bomb on every front.
The new millennium ushered in success for him with Lagaan in 2001, which was a success not just at the box office but also with the critics. It was nominated at the 74th Academy Awards under the Best Foreign Language Film category. The film also won the National Film Award and earned Aamir his second Filmfare Best Actor Award. The year 2001 was more than a merry one for Aamir as Lagaan success was followed by Dil Chahta Hai, which also starred Akshay Khanna and Saif Ali Khan. Dil Chahta Hai was one of the crucial point in his carrier. It was a representation of the modern Indian youth's mindset and was like by them as well.
After that Aamir took a four-year break from films as he was going through a number of personal problems. He filed for a divorce in 2002 and ended his 15-year-old marriage with Reena. His ex-wife got the custody of both his kids. On 28th December 2005, he remarried Kiran Rao who was an assistant director to Ashutosh Gowarikar during Lagaan. He was offered to have his wax statue put at Madame Taussads but he declined saying that his fans would watch his films and it was not very important for him.
His first release after the four-year break was Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra's Rang De Basanti, which was highly acclaimed and won Aamir his Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance. It was also chosen as India's official entry to the Academy Awards. In 2007 his next film Taare Zameen Par received praises from audiences and critics.
