. But, before I do, I want to talk a little bit about why ab exercises usually fail to produce results.

Most people do ab exercises to lose weight and burn fat around their bellies. This does not work because you cannot spot reduce fat. Even if you could typical ab exercises do not burn enough calories to make a difference. Consider this, even if you went through the physical exertion of running a few miles you would only burn a few hundred calories. To burn one pound of fat it takes 3,500 calories! That is 1,500 calories more than the average person burns in the average day. So, you can see what a daunting task it is.

If you actually want to see the results of your ab workouts you need to get down to under 10% body fat for men and 16% for women. To do this you need to turn your body into a fat burning furnace. So, this is what this ab exercise routine is designed to do in a number of ways. These exercises will allow you to build muscle which weighs more than fat and causes the body to work harder which burns more fat throughout the day. They will also cause you to exert such effort that you go into a metabolic shock and burn even more calories for days after the workout. The other thing these exercises will do is work your abs indirectly because they will be involved in stabilizing your body when you do the workout.

Day 1, dumb bell snatches, squats, clean and press, bench press.


Day 2, chin ups, bent over rows, dead lift.

Day 3, military press, dips, lunges, dumb bell swings

Day4, straight legged dead lift, pull ups, single armed bar bell curls, renegade rows.

Now, if you have access to one you will want to use a kettlebell (KB) which is a Russian device which looks like a cannonball with a handle on it. Because of the design it is ideal for swinging between the legs with either one hand or two. This targets the muscles of your core such as your back, hips and, oh yes, abs. It also burns calories at a rate of up to 20 a minute.
