, like DM500, DM518S, and 7000s and so on. Today I will introduce you with DM500.

Generally speaking, DM500 is products that a satellite receiver including a Linux computer operating system. As a general man, it will be confused when we saw this number on the DM500 parameter table, and now let us know about it step by step.

PowerPC CPU

The CPU that used in DM500 is called PowerPC; we cant translate it into a powerful PC-CPU literally. The chip development began 1990s, it is a RISC chip that developed by IBM, Motorola, and Apple jointly, and its full name is Power Optimization With enhanced RISC. Such chips are widely used in network equipment and consumer devices. This RISC chip has grown to more than 2GHz by now, but our DM500 still using the PowerPC chip of 250MHz.

By now we know that the domestic manufacturers copy version of machine's PowerPC chip is produced in South Korea and Taiwan.

Status Indicator

There are two status indicators that are used by now, one of these is working status green light, and another is standby-red light. It should be taken into consideration that DM500 infrared remote sensor is inside the status indicator window, so the window should not be objected by blocking, otherwise, the remote control is not sensitive. Furthermore, it needs to be reminded that there is another status indicator; it is a network logon status indicator.

Linux Operating System

When talk about the Linux operating system, there is no need to say more about it, this is an open source operating system, it has the same status with Microsoft's windows operating system. The PowerPC CPU is using embedded Linux operating system, this operating system with a large advantage that we can develop a variety of applications of DM500, so DM500 is not just a satellite receiver, it can develop a lot of proliferation.

Automatic scan mode

DM500 can scan the satellite transponder automatically. There are three standard operating mode scanning, of course, you can blind scan plug-in application, to achieve blind scan.

Support for custom TV Listings

People can set their own favorite type of channel listings freely by DM500, and the channel can be removed easily.

Unlimited number of TV and radio channels table

I remember when use Thunder 430, it can set up the number of channels is1000,it mainly depends on the machine memory, because DM500 add a lot of memory, and the channel parameters is a small amount of data, so it can achieve an unlimited number of television and radio programs.
