An HP LaserJet 4000 Printer is a business printer

. A good business printer must be able to handle high volume printing and do so in a fast and efficient manner. This printer will deliver all of these using C4127A toner cartridge. The set up is quick and easy. The software that it comes with will walk you through the network printing set up. It is a monochrome laser printer that can produce quality printing with reliability.

The printer will print a fast 17 ppm. The moment you click to print it takes approximately 12 seconds to start printing. It has speed, but also gives quality output. There are up to 220 levels of gray scale giving photo grade printing. The default resolution is 600 x 600 dpi. This can be increased to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi if you should need it, but this will decrease pages per minute printed. It is capable of printing 65,000 sheets per month. One toner cartridge will print 10,000 sheets. The printer will warn you when the toner is low. It uses HP 27A toner which gives very crisp, clean text.

The printer paper tray will hold a whole ream of paper, 500 sheets. The feeder tray holds another 100 sheets of paper or 75 envelopes. A total storage of 600 sheets. If duplex printing is needed there is an optional duplex tray. There is also an additional paper tray that holds 500 sheets that is available. That would be a total of 1,100 sheets ready for printing before needing to add paper again. The output tray has sensor so you are aware of when the 250 sheet tray has been filled.

There is a second output tray located in the rear of the printer. This tray holds 50 sheets of paper. The 100 sheet feeder tray outputs here. This gives the ability to print more than one type of document of different sizes. The printer can print several different page sizes, including standard and legal size paper. It is able to handle any weight paper from 16 lbs to 53 lbs.

A 100 MHz processor is standard which will provide adequate speed. The internal memory is 4 MB of RAM. This is able to be expanded to 100 MB. There are three DIMM slots that hold 4, 8, 16 and 32 MB memory chips. An increase in the RAM means faster network printing and can eliminate print delays. There are two EIO slots available for the network connections.

There are parallel and serial ports and a 10/100 Ethernet interface. There are two flash memory slots that can hold either 2 MB or 4 MB. These are suggested for use to load forms, fonts and signatures. It allows for permanent loading of these features. The printer will work with both Windows and Mac operating systems.

This printer is relatively light at 39.27 pounds. It is 16.77 inches long, 15.4 inches wide and 13.3 inches high. If the duplex or second paper tray option is added, the height is then 18 inches. This is still compact enough to sit on a desk top.
